Analytics and decision products
You end up with the metrics, analysis, and data products that turn a platform into decisions — delivered into whatever BI tool you already run.
A senior engineer reads it and replies within one business day. Or write to emilio@lyticaconsulting.com.
- Week one
- The decisions made without data, and the numbers people argue about, listed
- Early weeks
- The most contested metric gets one definition, one test, and one source
- From there
- Metric by metric, into the tool your people already open in the morning
The problem this solves
Dashboards are easy to produce and mostly unread. The hard part sits upstream: agreeing what a metric means, making it reproducible, and putting it in front of the person who can act on it. A dashboard built on a number nobody trusts is worse than no dashboard, because now the distrust is on a screen everyone can see.
We are not your BI vendor. If you have Power BI or Tableau and people who know it, keep both. We build the layer underneath so that what your existing tool renders is correct, which is the half of the problem that actually stays broken.
What we build
Artifacts you own, not activities we perform.
- Metric definitions
- One agreed, tested definition per metric, versioned in your repository, so the same question returns the same number in every tool that asks it.
- Analysis that answers a specific question
- A written answer with the working shown, not a dashboard handed over for someone else to interpret.
- Experimentation
- Design, sizing, and readout for tests, so a result means something and a flat result is recognised as flat rather than re-cut until it moves.
- Data products
- A scored table, an API, a scheduled export — whatever shape the consuming system actually needs, monitored like production software.

How the engagement runs
You should be able to picture week one before you sign anything.
Week one
Where we start
We find the decisions being made without data, and the numbers people already argue about. Those two lists set the order of work.
The first weeks
The first thing that runs
The most contested metric gets a definition, a test, and a single place it comes from. Usually this is the point at which two departments discover they were measuring different things.
From there
The cadence
Metric by metric, decision by decision. Each one lands in the tool your people already open in the morning.
What we need, and what you get
What we need from you
- The names of the people who will use this, and access to ask them what they actually do.
- A decision-maker who will accept one definition of a contested metric.
- Whatever exists today, however messy. Especially the spreadsheets.
What you get from us
- Definitions in your repository, readable without a licence to anything.
- No new BI tool to buy, and no migration you did not ask for.
- A straight answer when the honest finding is that the data cannot support the decision.
